Dr. James Kuris is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon whose practice centres on arthroscopy and limb reconstruction. He corrects limb deformity and lengthens bone with the Ilizarov method, and manages difficult non-unions, malunions and open fractures, along with congenital deformity in children, adult deformity and post-polio limb deficits. Computer-assisted correction planning and six-axis fixators support that work. His arthroscopic surgery covers the knee, shoulder, ankle and wrist, including ligament repair and reconstruction, and he also works in joint replacement and sports medicine. Fellowship training took him to the Paley Orthopedic and Spine Institute in Florida and to the Center for Ilizarov Techniques in Akola, followed by an arthroscopy and joint reconstruction fellowship at Pimprikar's Adtoos Clinics in Nashik, and observerships at the Hospital for Special Surgery, New York.
